Pasikuda

Those who would rather retreat to a remote tropical paradise are drawn to Passikudah’s immaculate shoreline. The beach is vast and broad, the waves are placid and soft, and for miles on end there are just white sands. Numerous tropical fish species flourish in a unique coral reef system under the bay’s waters. The shallow reef connects to other reefs of a similar nature near Kalkudah and extends far out.

Currently under consideration as a Marine Sanctuary, this is one of the most well-known reef systems in the area.

Water Sports - One of the safest beaches in the country, Passikudah is ideal for surfing, snorkelling, diving, windsurfing, water skiing, kite surfing and other watersports.
Batticaloa Lighthouse - Built in 1913 by the British, it guided many ships to safety and still stands guard. The views from the top are breathtaking.
Singing Fish and Kallady Bridge - Kallady is Sri Lanka’s oldest and longest iron bridge. Popular legend claims that sounds of singing fish can be heard from beneath it.
